Vietnam flights from India (Mumbai)

There are now plenty of options for Vietnam flights from India. When I travelled in Sep/Oct 2019, I don’t think there was a direct flight from Mumbai to Vietnam. After I completed my trip, I did read a news that VietJet was planning to start non-stop flights from Delhi to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Since there were no direct flights, I decided to opt for Singapore Airlines (they were not the cheapest but I am fan of their service as well the Changi Airport). I somehow just love spending time at the airport. So we booked multi-city flights from Mumbai – Singapore – Hanoi and return leg Siem Reap – Singapore – Mumbai.

Flights costed me approx. 25000 INR (Return) which I believe was a steal deal considering that I was flying Singapore Airlines. I had booked my flights on 17th April for a travel date of 27th Sep. Booking early really helped.

How to make good use of the layover at Changi?

Changi airport is hands down one of the best airports in the world to transit. It has loads of activities to keep you busy throughout your travel duration. We had a good layover of 4 hours while returning from Cambodia and spent most of it in the lounge and watching Avengers in one of the movie halls. In my previous visits I have extensively used following facilities in Changi:

  • Lounges (My credit card provides unlimited lounge access)
  • Butterfly garden
  • Movie theatres
  • Tram ride to watch the world’s biggest indoor waterfall Vortex located at the Jewel Changi.
  • And countless other experiences. Changi is a treat every single time.
  • Complete list of attractions at Changi.

To know what other facilities are available checkout the official Changi Airport Website.

Pro Tip – If you are transiting through Changi airport while flying Singapore Airlines / Silk Air, read this post on how to get a free SGD20 voucher/person.
